Remark
The idea here is to take any two successive terms and divide one by the other. which is the divisor and which the dividend will be discussed below.

Step One
Set up the ratio for the common ratio between terms that come one after another.

Mathematically this is written as
r = \frac{t_{n+1}}{t_n}

So just to see how this looks
t_(n + 1) = 3
t_n = 9
r = \frac{t_{3}}{9}
r = 1/3

Does this work for other examples? Let's try a more complicated looking one.

t_(n) = 1/9
t_(n+1) = 1/27

r = t_(n + 1) / t_n
r = \frac{ \frac{1}{27} }{ \frac{1}{9} }
r = \frac{1}{27}* \frac{9}{1}
r = 1/3

- 22 - 7v = - 3(8V + 4)<br> Round to the nearest hundreth
Dmitriy789 [7]

Answer:

v = 0.58

Step-by-step explanation:

-22 - 7v = -3(8v + 4)

Expand -3(8v + 4)

3 * 8v - 3 * 4

Simplify -3 * 8v -3 * 4

= -24v - 12

-22 - 7v = -24v - 12

Add 22 to both sides

-7v = -24v +10

Add 24v to both sides

17v = 10

\frac{17v}{17} =\frac{10}{17}

v =\frac{10}{17}

v=0.58

18. Find the center, vertices, and foci of the ellipse with equation x squared divided by 225 plus y squared divided by 625 = 1.
KengaRu [80]

Answer:

Center (0,0)

Vertices (-15,0), (15,0), (0,-25), (0,25)

Foce (0,-20), (0,20)

Step-by-step explanation:

You are given the ellipse equation

\dfrac{x^2}{225}+\dfrac{y^2}{625}=1

The canonical equation of ellipse with center at (0,0) is

\dfrac{x^2}{a^2}+\dfrac{y^2}{b^2}=1

So,

a^2=225\Rightarrow a=15\\ \\b^2=625\Rightarrow b=25

Hence, the center of your ellipse is at (0,0) and the vertices are at points (-15,0), (15,0), (0,-25) and (0,25)

This ellipse is strengthen in y-axis, so

c=\sqrt{b^2-a^2}=\sqrt{625-225}=\sqrt{400}=20

and the foci are at points (0,-20) and (0,20).
