Total income = 11.75 x 40 x 4 = $1,880
Less: FICA = 0.0765 x 1,880 = $143.82
Federal tax = 0.1075 x 1,880 = $202.10
Stare tax = 0.075 x 1,880 = $141
Net Income = $1,393.08

Answer:

You are paid $11.75/hr. You work 40 hr/wk.

Weekly income is :

11.75\times40=470

So, monthly income becomes :

11.75\times40\times4=1880

Deductions are given as :

FICA (7.65%) = 0.0765\times1880=143.82

Federal tax withholding (10.75%) = 0.1075\times1880=202.10

State tax withholding (7.5%) = 0.075\times1880=141

So, net income = 1880-(143.82+202.10+141) = $1393.08

2. 20 hours of overtime in next month at 1.5 times your regular rate, so rate is 1.5\times11.75=17.625

So, overtime pay is = 20\times17.625=352.50

And adding this to normal pay we get , 1880+352.50=$2232.50

Now deductions will be :

FICA at 7.65% = 0.0765\times2232.50=170.786

Federal tax withholding at 10.75% = 0.1075\times2232.50=239.993

State tax withholding at 7.5% = 0.075\times2232.50=167.437

Total deductions are = 170.786+239.993+167.437 = $578.216

So, net income becomes = 2232.50-578.216 = $1654.284

3. No discretionary expense is given in the question.

Jason has applied to be a camp counselor for the summer. The job pays $9 per hour. The equation to represent Jason’s job is y =
sergejj [24]

Jason’s camp counselor job pays a higher hourly rate than Mia’s lifeguard job, $9.00 compared to $8.75

What is the hourly rate of Jason from the lifeguard job?

The hourly rate of the lifeguard job can determined as the total amount earned divided by  the total of number of hours worked

hourly rate=($52.50+$70.00+$43.75)/(6+8+5)

hourly rate=$8.75

The lifeguard job when compared to the camp counselor for the summer  job pays lesser hourly rate of $8.75 as against $9.00 per hour from latter job, hence, Jason’s camp counselor job pays a higher hourly rate than Mia’s lifeguard job.

I really need help . z = m - x, for x , i have tried x=m-z and thats incorrect.
ch4aika [34]

z = m - x

To solve for x, we can treat this like a typical algebraic problem.

We need to isolate x on one side.

<em><u>Add x to both sides</u></em>

z + x = m

<u><em>Subtract z from both sides</em></u>

x = m - z

This should be the answer.

Represent the geometric series using the explicit formula.
user100 [1]

Answer:  f(n)=12(-3)^{(n-1)}

Step-by-step explanation:

The Explicit formula in function notation for a geometric series is:

f(n)=f(1)r^{(n-1)}

Where f(n) is the nth term of the sequence, f(1) is the first term in the sequence and r is the common ratio.

Given the following geometric serie:

12, -36, 108, -324...

The common ratio is:

r=\frac{-36}{12}=-3

And the first term is:

f(1)=12

Therefore, substituting values, we get that the Explicit formula that represents this geometric series is:

f(n)=12(-3)^{(n-1)}
