Answer:

A. One claim which is made from the passage about the policies of china is that the ruler wanted to bringtogether some parts of the world. Which some are across sea’s. The ruler made a superintendent ofmaritime trade. Superintendent being the one who has authority and brought up a ‘rule’ and maritime meaning certain connections among the sea’s and “nations"

B. One way in which the passage illustrates the economic development of China under the Song dynasty isby how their trading system works. They trade with certain countries and empires get what they cantproduce and give what they can produce which others can't. Silk was very popular since it was veryunique. Having things to trade and be sold increases their social status. But economically they were inpretty good standings. “The wise and noble Queen Blanche [of Castile], the mother of King Louis IX of France [reigned 1226-1270], had infinite goodness. She ruled the kingdom of France with such skill and care until her son wasold enough to accede to the throne that no man could have done better. Even when he was grown up, sheproved herself so worthy that she remained at the head of his advisors and nothing was decided withouther consent. She even followed her son into battle.

The excerpt could best be used by historians studying which of the following in the early 1800s? The political debates over econ
olchik [2.2K]

The best use of the excerpt in question by historians would be to understand A. The political debates over economic development.

The excerpt focuses on Henry Clay and his argument for the Tariff of 1833 which would replace the Tariff of 1832 which had been controversial because:

 • It essentially forced Southern States to buy goods at a higher rate from Northern manufacturers
 • It led to Britain buying less goods from the South

The excerpt therefore showed how politicians debated over economic subjects such as tariffs and protectionism.

We can therefore conclude that historians could use it to better understand the political nature of debates over economic development at the time.
