Well, based on my observation, these are subtraction tumblers. For example, the first tumbler, as you put it, works in two ways. 6 minus 1 is 5, and 6 minus 5 is 1. Hope this helps! :)

Tresset [83]

Answer:

Jimmy has a ratio of 1:20, or 1 page:20 seconds. Carlo has a ratio of 1:30, or 1 page:30 seconds. Jimmy reads at a faster pace than Carlo, as he is able to read a page in 2/3 of the time it takes Carlo.

Step-by-step explanation:

Jimmy reads a page, on average, every 20 seconds.

5 × 60 = 300

300/15 = 20

therefore, one page every 20 seconds

1:20

Carlo reads a page, on average, every 30 seconds.

6 × 60 = 360

360/12 = 30

therefore, one page every 30 seconds

1:30
