We know the formula for volume of cylinder of given by

V = π r² h

If the dimensions are tripled, new volume will be :-

V' = π (3r)² (3h) = π (9r²) (3h) = 27 π r² h = 27 V

We can see new volume is 27 times original volume.

Volume of a Rectangular Prism: V=lwh

l=50 cm
w= 30cm
h= 40 cm

Step 1: 50×30×40= 60,000

The volume of the tank is 60,000 cubic centimeters

The water reaches a height of 28 centimeters, or 2142.9 cubic centimeters per centimeter.

Step 2: 35× 2142.9= 75001.5 cubic centimeters

Step 3) 75001.5- 60,000= 15001.5 CUBIC CENTIMETERS ARE NEEDED TO FILL THE REST OF THE TANK TO A HEIGHT OF 35 CENTIMETERS

Hope this helps!

Find the value of x please
Natasha_Volkova [10]

Answer:

x=70

Step-by-step explanation:

The value of x is 70 because this triangle is isosceles, meaning that there are two congruent sides and two congruent angles (which are the base angles). x is one of the base angles, 70º is the other base angle's measurement, so x=70.

A garden is made up of two squares and a quarter circle. What is the area of the garden?
Elanso [62]

9514 1404 393

Answer:

  100.27 ft^2

Step-by-step explanation:

The area of each square is ...

  A = s^2 = (6 ft)^2 = 36 ft^2

The area of the 1/4 circle is ...

  A = 1/4πr^2 = 1/4π(6 ft)^2 = 9π ft^2 ≈ 28.27 ft^2

__

The area of the garden is the sum of the areas of the quarter circle and the two squares:

  A = 28.27 ft^2 + 2×36 ft^2 = 100.27 ft^2

The area of the garden is about 100.27 square feet.

Find the quotient (line over 42 is repeating)
strojnjashka [21]
 The correct answer is:  [C]:  " \frac{21}{11} " .
_____________________________________________________

<span>Explanation:
_____________________________________________________
</span>
Let us begin by converting the:
"0.42 (with the "repeating bar on the digits, "42") " ;

into a fraction, as follows:
______________________________________________________
   Let  x = 0.42424242424242424242424242424242....

100x = 42.42424242424242424242424242424242....
______________________________________________________

         100x = 42.42424242424242424242424242424242....
    –         x =   0.42424242424242424242424242424242...
______________________________________________________
          99x = 42.000000000000000000000000000000.... ;

         →   99x = 42 ;

Divide each side of the equation by " 99 " ;
       to isolate "x" on one side of the equation; & to solve for "x" ;
______________________________________________________
         →  99x / 99 = 42/99 = (42 ÷ 3) / (99 ÷ 3) = 14/ 33;

         →  x = "\frac{14}{33}" .

So;  "0.42 (with a repeating bar over the digits, "42" ;

           is equal to:  "\frac{14}{33}"
________________________________________________
 So, rewrite the question/problem being asked:
________________________________________________
  "Find the quotient:
________________________________________________
   \frac{14}{33}  ÷ \frac{2}{9}  ;

=  \frac{14}{33} * \frac{9}{2}  ;

Note:  The "14" cancels to a "7" <span>; and</span> the "2" cancels to a "1" ;
       →  {since:  " 14 ÷ 2 = 7 " ; and since:  " 2 ÷ 2 = 1 "} ;

Note : The "33" cancels to an "11" ; and the "9" cancels to a "3" ;
        →  {since:  " 33 ÷ 3 = 11 " ; and since:  " 9 ÷ 3 = 3 "} ;

And we can rewrite the problem as:
____________________________________________________

 " \frac{7}{11}  * \frac{3}{1} "  ;

  =  \frac{(7*3)}{(11*1}   =  \frac{21}{11} ;

            → which is:  Answer choice:  [C]:  " \frac{21}{11} " .

What is the answer??
Paha777 [63]

Answer:

D) 39

Step-by-step explanation:

There are a couple of steps to this. First, note that you must plug in the given number that replaces x into the right side's x. After you find the answers, you must then subtract both answers to get your result.

First step, find g(8):

g(x) = 3x - 2

When x = 8,

g(8) = 3(8) - 2

Remember to follow PEMDAS, the order of operations. First, multiply, then subtract:

g(8) = (3 * 8) - 2

g(8) = (24) - 2

g(8) = 22

Next step, find g(-5):

g(x) = 3x - 2

g(-5) = 3(-5) - 2

g(-5) = (3 * -5) - 2

g(-5) = (-15) - 2

g(-5) = -17

Note that you are subtracting both numbers. When there are two negative signs directly next to each other, it becomes a positive:

22 - (-17) = 22 + 17 = 39

D) 39 is your answer.
