Answer:

<em>The second quartile will be $3.32</em>

Step-by-step explanation:

The list of different gas prices is......

$3.31,   $3.28,   $3.42,   $3.35,   $3.31,   $3.26,   $3.38,   $3.32,   $3.34

<u>Second quartile actually means the Median of the data list</u>. So, first we need to put the list in ascending order like......

$3.26,   $3.28,   $3.31,   $3.31,   $3.32,   $3.34,   $3.35,   $3.38,   $3.42

As there are total 9 data in the list, so the median will be the (\frac{9+1}{2}) or 5th number, which is $3.32

So, the second quartile will be $3.32

Answer :$3.32

Explanation :

First arrange the given discrete values in ascending order.

$3.26, $3.28, $3.31, $3.31, $3.32, $3.34,$3.35, $3.38, $3.42

we will use the formula 1/2 x (n +1), where n is total number of discrete values which in this case is 9.

This formula doesn't give the answer of the second quartile, it tells which nth term in the arranged set will be the second quartile.

1/2 (9+1) = 5.

Now we will choose the 5th term of the ascending order set.

The second quartile is same as the median, which is the mid value of the given set of the number.

3x+2y=23<br> 1/2x-4=y<br><br> What should I do for this one...? I dont really understand
Hitman42 [59]

Since you have y alone on one side of the equation......

Use substitution and plug in 1/2x-4 for y in the other equation.

3x+2(1/2x-4)=23\\

Distribute

3x+x-8=23

Combine like terms

4x-8=23

Add 8 to both sides

4x=31

Divide by 4

and x=31/4

Plug this value in for x

31/4*1/2-4=y

Simplify

31/8-4=y

Multiply everything by 8 and simplify

31-32=8y\\-1=8y

Divide.....

y=-1/8

Your answers are:

y=-1/8\\x=31/4

in jacks class, 18 of the students are y'all and 10 are short. in Michael class 54 students are tall and 30 students are short w
Naddik [55]

Answer:

The answer is: both class have the same ratio.

Step-by-step explanation:

Get the ratio of tall to short. Divide Tall by Short:

Jack's class:

18/10 = 1.8 tall one for every short one

Michael's class:

54/30 = 1.8

The ratio is the same!

You can further prove this by multiplying 18 times 3 and getting 54, and 10 times 3 and getting 30.

Hope this Helps!! Have an Awesome Day!! (-:
