All the three resistors are in parallel because the current is getting divided in each branch.
Therefore the equivalent resistance is
1/R = 1/3 + 1/6 + 1/9 = 11/18
Therefore, R = 18/11 = 1.6 ohms

A cart traveling at 0.3 m/s collides with stationary object. After the collision, the cart rebounds in the opposite direction. T
miv72 [106K]

Answer:

C. In the first collision has twice the momentum as when it stays still ( second colllions)

Explanation:

To see which statement is correct, it is best to solve the problem, the momentum is equal to the variation of the moment

     I = Δp = m vf - m v₀

     I = m (vf -v₀)

Case 1. In car bounces, the initial speed is 0.3 m / s, say that this direction is positive, when the magnitude of the speed bounces it remains constant, but its direction is reversed (vf = -0.3 m / s)

    I₁ = m (-0.3 - 0.3)

    I₁ = -0.6 m

Case 2. The expensive one that still after the crash so its speed is zero (vf = 0)

    I₂ = m (0 - 0.3)

    I₂ = -0.3 m

Let's calculate the relationship between the two impulses

     I₁ / I₂ = -0.6m / -0.3m

     I₂ / I₂ = 2

When it bounces it has twice the momentum as when it stays still

Now let's analyze the answers:

A.   False The momentum changes

B. False. The momentum is less in the second collision

C. True. The momentum is double in this collision

D. False. Can be calculated, because the mass is the same throughout the exercise and is eliminated in the equations

E. False. When they say bounces it implies the same speed with the opposite direction

If a ball is tossed straight up into the air, at what position is its potential energy the greatest? Question 3 options: When it
Gennadij [26K]

The ball has the greatest potential energy when it reaches the top of its flight. Option C is correct.

What is potential energy?

The potential energy of a body or object is due to its position. The ball has the greatest potential energy when it reaches the highest point.

U = mgh

Where,

U - potential energy

m - mass

g - gravitation acceleration

h - height

Since the mass and gravitation acceleration is constant hence potential energy will be directly proportional to the height of the ball.

Therefore, the ball has the greatest potential energy when it reaches the top of its flight.

1. A 2m-long and 3m-wide horizontal rectangular plate is submerged in water. The distance of the top surface from the free surfa
ExtremeBDS [4]

Answer:

864 KN

Explanation:

(Absolute pressure) = (Atmospheric pressure) + (Gauge Pressure)

Atmospheric pressure = 95 KPa = 95000 Pa

Gauge Pressure = ρgh

ρ = density of the fluid = 1000 kg/m³

g = acceleration due to gravity = 9.8 m/s²

h = depth below the fluid level that the object is at = 5 m

Gauge Pressure = 1000 × 9.8 × 5 = 49000 Pa

Absolute pressure = 95000 + 49000 = 144000 Pa.

Pressure = (Hydrostatic force)/(Area perpendicular to the force)

Hydrostatic force = (Pressure) × (Area perpendicular to the force)

Area perpendicular to the force = 2 × 3 = 6 m²

Hydrostatic force on the top of the plate = 144000 × 6 = 864000 N = 864 KN

Hope this Helps!!!
