An independent or free press would not be a trait of a fascist government. Fascist governments routinely restrict and suppress the press. It was not uncommon for those governments to control the press and publish official papers which supported their policies.

Monarchs (Kings or Queens) used the concept of divine right (saying God chose them to be ruler) to support absolute rule (only one ruler in charge, no parlament or government) by stating that they were the only ones worthy of the thrown because God had supposedly chosen them.
