Yes, any two parallel lines have the same slope.

For example, graphing out y = 2x+5 and y = 2x+7 will produce parallel lines (both lines have a slope of 2). The two lines will never cross. Algebraically we can solve this system of equations as follows:

y = 2x+5 ... start with the first equation

2x+7 = 2x+5 ... replace y with 2x+7

2x+7-2x = 2x+5-2x .... subtract 2x from both sides

2x-2x+7 = 2x-2x+5

0x+7 = 0x+5

0+7 = 0+5

7 = 5 ... we have a contradiction and false statement here

Because of the false equation in the last line, the original system mentioned above does not have any solutions. A solution to a system is one where the two lines cross.

aleksklad [387]

Answer: 7.25 gallons

Step-by-step explanation:

Convert 13¹/₂ to a whole number with a decimal:

= 1/2 = 0.5

= 13.5 gallons of gas

If the gas reduces by 6.25 gallons, the amount of gas remaining will be:

= Starting amount - Amount reduced by

= 13.5 - 6.25

Consider a function that describes how a particular car’s gas mileage depends on its speed. What would be an appropriate domain
natta225 [31]
Domain are x values (independent variable);

Speed would be independent so what speeds can be used ? -30 mph, 30 mph, 1000 mph?

Can a car go 0 mph?

What is realistic?

I would say 0 greater or equal to x greater than whatever you think is beyond the max that a car can go.
