Answer;

c.Traits that are beneficial to humans are selected for in each generation.

Explanation;

-Natural selection and selective breeding (artificial selection) can both produce changes in animals and plants. Like natural selection, artificial selection acts by allowing differential reproductive success to individuals with different genetically determined traits in order to increase the frequency of desirable traits in the population.

-However, unlike naturally selected traits, artificially selected traits do not necessarily convey greater fitness. Instead, artificially selected traits are based on what the person breeding the plants and animals desires.

-Additionally, artificial selection generally is much faster than natural selection, because the next generation can be absolutely restricted to offspring of parents that meet the desired criteria

9) Identify the FALSE statement regarding sensory receptor cells. A) A graded potential is referred to as a receptor potential.
rjkz [21]

Answer:

C) Each type of sensory receptor responds only to the stimulus that defines the receptor

Explanation:

Neurons, specialized cells within the nervous system. These help with coordinated movement ad communication within the body through the transmission of electrical signals.

Sensory receptors are highly specialized neurons. These are able to detect various chemical and physical stimuli, and are classified by their ability to detect certain stimuli such as:

 • photoreceptors
 • mechanoreceptors
 • chemoreceptors
 • thermoreceptors

Sensory receptors respond to certain intensities of stimuli, instead of one specific stimulus. e.g. Mechanoreceptors within the skin can respond to pressure changes due to touch, but may also detect sound due to specific vibrations.
