Why do you think the United States has a constitution? What role does a written constitution play in everyday US society?

I think the U.S has a constitution because it puts rules in place. I think if we didn't have a set of rules then we would become a dictatorship and the country would just fall apart. also, one role its plays every day is the government. So it tells what the government can and cannot do.
