Under what conditions do you think the United States should remain neutral when other countries are fighting?

I believe that the only time the United States should get involved in wars is when there is a genocide occurring, our allies call upon us for help, or when our democracy/liberty is at stake. Unless one of those conditions have been met, we should stay neutral. Those are in no particular order, just what I think.
