It challenged the power of judicial review but was unsuccessful. It was an example of the Supreme Court ruling a law unconstitutional. It challenged the power of judicial review and caused it to be revoked. It was an example of Congress amending the Constitution.

The North American geologists were so resistant to Alfred Wegener's theory or idea of the Continental Drift because they thought his theory merely made literature difficult and confused the mind of students. B. Because the British did not realize that even if they had won the revolutionary war they would still have a resentful and rebellious nation that wished to be free. Patriots would rise no matter what happened, So they ignored convincing the colonists that staying with Great Britain would be the better option. Hope this helps

The explosion of the Maine in Cuba on February 15, 1898 was ruled by a Naval Court of Inquiry in March of 1898 as caused by a mine explosion. Subsequantly many different views of what caused the explosion have been put forward to a fire in her coal bunkers to a fire in her powder magazines. In 1976 a group of American Naval Investigators concluded that a fire ignited the Maines magazines.

The answer to the question however remains that experts cannot definitively say what the cause of the explosion was.
