diatom cells are not interconnected and are very similar to diatoms that are living unicellularly. The Spirogyra cells are the building blocks of the filaments. b. The diatoms are protected by cellulose cell walls. The Spirogyra are protected by silicate shells that could link together to form several larger structures. c. The diatoms are only photosynthetic thanks to symbiotic algae. The Spirogyra have their own chloroplasts. d. The diatoms do not have any specialized structures. Which organisms synthesize carbohydrates, and in which cell organelle(s) does this synthesis occur?
ad-work [718]

Answer:

C

Explanation:

Green Plants are the main producers of starch as carbohydrate. In order to carry out this  special organelle Chloroplast are specially adapted  for this purpose,

Green plant are made up of Chlorophyll which are the green pigments that for trapping sunlight for the synthesis of starch to occur.

Photosynthesis is the process of synthesis of the starch. It involves the reaction of C02 with water  in the presence of sunlight  and enzymes to give oxygen as the byproduct, and Starch( carbohydrate) as the main product.

This process occur in two pathways the light dependent pathways and the light independent pathways,

Green plant and some organisms phytoplankons, algea are capable of producing starch  through photosynthesis because of the green pigment they possess. Therefore they are said to be Autothrophic.

What would happen to an ecosystem if an energy level disappeared? This is meaning in a pyramid.
butalik [34]
This has happened before in Yellow Stone National Park in CA. Removing a species form the Pyramid causes the ecosystem to collapse, as species become over hunted and others are starved. One type of organism could become overpopulated, therefor lack of natural variation.

koban [17]
I believe the correct response would be C. Plants acquire carbohydrates by producing them through the process of photosynthesis. This allows plants to then use the formed carbohydrates to build structural polymers, such as cellulose.
