Ray Of Light [21]

Susan Brownell Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Santon are American women known for abolition and women's rights.

In 1890, Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Susan B. Anthony founded National American Woman Suffrage Association, abbreviated as NAWSA.

NAWSA was founded as:

  • NAWSA was established as the merger between the National Women Suffrage Association (NWSA), and American Woman Suffrage Association (AWSA).

  • NWSA worked at the federal level at protests for rights to vote for women. NWSA focused on a range of women's rights and considered them equal parts of society.

  • AWSA solely focused on women's rights to vote. It aimed towards expanding and granting laws to women across the United States.

Thus, in 1890, E. Cady and S. Anthony founded NAWSA.

Some Native tribes were nomadic and moved their homes, some Native tribes were more permanent. What was the major difference in
snow_lady [41]

Answer:

Many thousands of years before Christopher Columbus’ ships landed in the Bahamas, a different group of people discovered America: the nomadic ancestors of modern Native Americans who hiked over a “land bridge” from Asia to what is now Alaska more than 12,000 years ago. In fact, by the time European adventurers arrived in the 15th century A.D., scholars estimate that more than 50 million people were already living in the Americas. Of these, some 10 million lived in the area that would become the United States. As time passed, these migrants and their descendants pushed south and east, adapting as they went. In order to keep track of these diverse groups, anthropologists and geographers have divided them into “culture areas,” or rough groupings of contiguous peoples who shared similar habitats and characteristics. Most scholars break North America—excluding present-day Mexico—into 10 separate culture areas: the Arctic, the Subarctic, the Northeast, the Southeast, the Plains, the Southwest, the Great Basin, California, the Northwest Coast and the Plateau.

What was true about the sinking of the uss maine? Apex?
DochEvi [55]

Originally, the sinking of the ship, the USS Maine, was led to believe that Spain had blown it up while it was in the harbor near Cuba. Yellow Journalism was a practice where newspapers were encouraging people to sympathize or support the cause for the war against Spain.

But the reality was that there was a malfunction in the ship's engine that actually blew up itself.  This was investigated years after 1898 when it exploded.

The ship's explosion itself caused people to want the United States to declare war against Spain because it killed Americans on board.  However, because of the false information, Spain did not actually blow up the ship.  The United States used the ship's explosion as leverage to declare war against Spain, in which they ended up winning the Spanish-American War in 1898.
