The difference between DNA and RNA is in the sugar ring.

Explanation:

In case of the DNA it is the deoxyribose, while in RNA it is ribose sugar. Deoxyribose is modified form of sugar with absence of  the one oxygen atom hence named ‘deoxy’. The absence of 1 oxygen is important because it helps the enzyme to differentiate between DNA and RNA.

While in ribose sugar, each atom is attached with one oxygen atom. There is a hydroxyl group present in the RNA that helps in RNA splicing. But in the deoxyribose the hydroxyl group is replaced by the hydrogen atom.

How do bacterial repair damaged DNA?
lukranit [14]

Answer:

Most damage to DNA is repaired by removal of the damaged bases followed by resynthesis of the excised region. Some lesions in DNA, however, can be repaired by direct reversal of the damage, which may be a more efficient way of dealing with specific types of DNA damage that occur frequently.
