1. If the angles are congruent the measures are equal. That's the angle congruence postulate, usually too obvious to name.

2. The measures of complementary angles add to 90 degrees. That's the definition of complementary angles.

3. We substitute m∠2 for m∠1 so now m∠2 + m∠3 = 90 degrees.

4. The measures add to 90 degrees so now we conclude ∠2 and ∠3 are complementary.

------------

Why did this proof bother with the measures at all? Proof: Angles 2 and 3 are complementary. Angle 1 is congruent to Angle 3. Therefore Angles 1 and 3 are complementary.

Two rectangular prisms have the same volume. The area of the base, B, of the blue prism is 418 square units. The area of the bas
kenny6666 [7]

Answer:

The height of the blue prism is half the height of the red prism

Step-by-step explanation:

Represent the volume of the blue prism with Vb and the red prism with Vr

So, we have:

V_r = V_b

A_b = 418 --- base area of the blue

A_r = \frac{1}{2}A_b --- base area of the red

Required

Determine which statement about the heights of the prisms is true

Volume is calculated as:

Volume = Base\ Area * Height

For the blue prism:

V_b = A_b * h_b

For the red prism

V_r = A_r * h_r

Equate both volumes

V_r = V_b

A_r * h_r = A_b * h_b

Substitute the expression for A_r

\frac{1}{2}A_b * h_r = A_b * h_b

Divide both sides by A_b

\frac{1}{2} h_r = h_b

This implies that the height of the blue prism is half the height of the red prism

The circumference of a circle 25.12ft. What is the circle’s diameter (take =3.14
marshall27 [118]

Answer:

Diameter = 8 ft

Step-by-step explanation:

To find diameter, we need to work backwards from the formula for circumference of a circle.

Circumference = 2πr

given that π = 3.14

Circumference = 2*3.14*r

25.12 = 2*3.14*r

25.12 = 6.28 * r

4 = r

Radius = 4

Formula for Diameter =

D = 2r

D = 2*4

D = 8

Diameter = 8

Lets Check

Circumference = 2 * 3.14 * 4

Circumference = 25.12

Correct

A rectangular soccer field is 80 meters wide and 110 meters long. The coach asks players to run from one corner of the field to
seraphim [82]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Goven the length of the field = 110m

Width = 80m

The length of the diagonal is expressed using the pythagoras theorem;

d² = l² + w²

d² = 110² + 80²

d² = 12100 + 6400

d² = 18500

d = √18500

d = 136.01

Hence the players have to run 136.01m diagonally

Lila evaluates the expression using the following steps:(−7.13+63.97)+(−54.8−3.4)−71.1+(−58.2)−129.3Describe the error that Lila
mihalych1998 [28]

Lila's error was that she added -7.13 to 63.97 to get -71.1

Lila steps are as folows

(−7.13 + 63.97) + (−54.8 − 3.4) = −71.1 + (−58.2) = −129.3

In the first bracket, Lila was suppose to subtract 7.31 from 63.97 since there is a negative in front of 7.31.

So, the correct expression should be

(−7.13 + 63.97) + (−54.8 − 3.4) = 56.84 + (−58.2) = 56.84 - 58.2 = −1.36

So, Lila's error was that she added -7.13 to 63.97 to get -71.1
