Alexander the great was the son of Philip II from Macedonia, an ancient Greek state. after Philip's death Alexander became king of Macedonia, which  at that moment was the strongest of all the Greek states. Then Alexander started a campaign of conquest of Asia as a continuation of the war against the Persian empire, which in total lasted 13 years . e and his armies  conquered Egypt, he was crowned as pharaoh, then conquered all of Persia and got to India where he died at age of 32.
