Read these lines from Emily Dickinson's poem "712"("Because I could not stop for Death"):
arsen [322]

Answer:

A. abcb

Explanation:

Read the poem out loud, paying particular attention the the last sounds of every line. Rhyming words sometimes look alike, but it's the sound that matters.

Death pronounced: deth

me pronounced: meee

selves pronounced: selvz "elvz" and "eth" are not similar.

ty pronounced: teeee Also has "eeee" sound like line 2.

To write the scheme, answer 'Does this line's last sound rhyme with anything above it?"

If no, continue with the alphabet.

If yes, take the letter from the line it rhymes with.

Line 1 No (nothing is above it)

          "a"

Line 2 No (not above)

          "b"

Line 3 No

           "c"

Line 4 Yes, Line 2!

           "b"

The rhyming scheme is abdb.

1. Lance Kenniston needed a ship to get to an asteroid, but nothing was available.

The most important detail of the passage is the fact that Lance Kenniston needs a ship urgently, but cannot find it. The name of his friend, or his physical characteristics are not vital to the action. Similarly, the name of the port is not the most important part of the passage. Finally, although the characters' desperation is important, it is even more valuable to know the reason for their desperation.

2. A. It tells readers there is something important happening on that asteroid.

If the characters are desperate to get back to the asteroid, we can assume something important is going to happen there within the next two weeks. We do not know whether they are planning on taking it over, whether they are at the wrong location, or whether Kenniston has not tried hard enough. Therefore, none of the other options is possible.

Respond to the quote : “Those in power should be held responsible not only for what they do but for what they do and not do “
Vesnalui [34]
It means that in the political world, when someone prominent is in power, they should answer for what they do, and also what they do not do to help out those around them and the ones that they are serving. By having transparency and not being corrupt this would make the political climate an easier place
