In poetry the term speaker refers to

English

Hey there! :)

The speaker is referencing the person that created or made the poem. The 'speaker' is the one communicating the piece. Often times, that gets confused with someone that is verbally speaking the poem, however, it is usually the author.

I hope this helps, DM if you have any questions. :)

Persona as a literary term refers to the narrator or speaker of the poem, not to be confused with the author — a narrative voice other than the poet tells the entire poem. When the poet creates a character to be the speaker, that character is called the persona and the poet imagines what it is like to enter someone else’s personality.

First, I should involve myself; then, act on the old saw, "Nothing ventured, nothing gained." … The doctrine I am presenting is
oksano4ka [1.4K]
that people should act

The quote "nothing ventured, nothing gained" means that if you don't take action, you don't try, then you won't gain anything. Sometimes people apply this to dating. If you don't ask the person out, then you'll never go on a date. Sometimes people apply this ideal to the lottery. If you don't play, then you'll definitely never win. The purpose of telling someone this saying is to encourage him or her to act, because without action, nothing will change.

When is the universal theme of a story often revealed?
tangare [24]

The correct answer is the following: option a. The universal theme of a story is often revealed at the resolution of the story, when the reader can see how the story ends.

In literature the terms of "theme" and "universal theme" are commonly used. While the theme of a work of literature is defined as the main message revealed through a story, the universal theme is defined as a theme that applies to anyone and everywhere, that is relatable to a wide set of readers.

In both cases, to know the theme or the universal theme of a piece of literature work, it is needed to read through the whole story and analyze it to find out what the theme of it is, and if it can be a universal theme relatable to a big audience.
