Answer: D. Water molecules are split apart

Explanation: During Light reactions of Photosynthesis, the chlorophyll located in the chloroplast will be activated by light energy from the sun. Thus the light activated chlorophyll will split the water molecule.

This process of splitting of water molecules is called Photolysis. Water molecule are splited to release Hydrogen ions and also oxygen.

A _____ derives its nutrients and energy from the organic matter of dead organisms, whereas a _____ livesin or on another living
AysviL [449]

Answer:

Explanation:

A saprophyte derives its nutrients and energy form the organic matter of dead organism, wheras a parasite lives in or on another living organism and derives its nutrients and energy from that living organism.

Saprophytes derives their nutrition by feeding on dead and decaying organisms. Most saprophytes are fungus. The energy needed for performing their life functions are sourced from dead organisms. All saprophytes are therefore heterotrophs and consumers in the food chain.

Parasites are organisms that derives their nutrition from their host. They completely depend on their host to provide nourishment for them. Most parasites on the long run harms their host. An example is tapeworm and pig.

TIME REMAN
Misha Larkins [42]

An example of Hector's somatic sensory system is in control is well demonstrated when after a long run, his body is sweating.

Answer: Option A

Explanation:

The somatic sensory system of the body refers to the living sensory system which is the system of sending response to the body in response to the stimuli felt or sensed. The motor neurons and sensory neuron comprises the system and when ever there is a change in the body outer or inner core which forms an stimuli, signals the somatic sensory system, and a response is signalled back.

So, when the Hector is running for a long time, the body heats up due to constant retraction and expansion of the muscle due to friction, the glucose molecule as energy is also exhausted, so counter the change, sensory system, cools the body from the heat produced, the cooling of the body is achieved by sweating. Therefore, Option A is the correct answer.
