the function P(m)below relates the amount of time (measured in minutes). Jane spent on her homework and the number of problems c

ompleted. it takes as input of the minutes worked and returns as output the number of problems completed. P(m)=m/5+8 which equation below represents the inverse function M(p), which takes the number of problems completed as input and returns the number of minutes worked? A. M(p)=40p+5 B. M(p)=40p-5 C. Follow these steps in finding the inverse of functions:

1. Replace function notation, is given, with y

2. Exchange independent variable and dependent variable (which is y here)

3. Solve for y

That new function is the inverse of the original.

Using the function P(m)=\frac{m}{5}+8, we replace P(m) with y, to get:

y=\frac{m}{5}+8

Doing a little algebra and arranging:

y=\frac{m+40}{5}

Now we do step 2 and 3, we exchange y and m and then solve for y.

m=\frac{y+40}{5}\\5m=y+40\\5m-40=y

This is the inverse function.

<em><u>Original function was P(m) so this function will be M(p). So we change m to p as the final touch.</u></em>

M(p)=5p-40. Answer choice D is correct.

P(m)=m/5+8, the inverse function of P(m) is the function m(P):

P(m)=m/5+8 ===>=(m+40)/5====> ===>
Inverse of P(m) is m(P), plug the value of m into P ===>m(P) =5p-40

Answer:

Surface area is the sum of all of the areas of the faces in a solid figure. To find the surface area, we must be able to calculate the area of each face and then add these areas together. A net is a two-dimensional diagram of a three-dimensional figure. With a net, we can see each face of the pyramid more clearly. To find the surface area, we need to calculate the area for each face in the net, the sides and the base. The side faces of a pyramid are always triangles, so we use the area formula for triangles to calculate their area: A=1/2 bh (BASE TIMES HEIGHT)..

Which of the following is the graph of f(x)= 3 sin 2(x)?
svetoff [14.1K]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Use the form  a sin ( bx- c) + d   to find the variables used to find the amplitude, period, phase shift, and vertical shift.

a = 3

b =  2

c  =  0

 d  =  0

Find the amplitude  |  a |

Amplitude:  3

Find the period using the formula  2π ÷ IbI

Period:  π

Find the phase shift using the formula  \frac{c}{b}

Phase Shift:  0

Find the vertical shift  : d

Vertical Shift:  0

List the properties of the trigonometric function.

Amplitude:  3

Period:  π

Phase Shift:  0  ( 0  to the right)

Vertical Shift:  0

Select a few points to graph.

x                       f ( x )

0                        0

π ÷ 4                 3

π  ÷ 2                 0

3 π  ÷ 4              -3

π                         0

 The Trignometric  function can be graphed using the amplitude, period, phase shift, vertical shift, and the points.

Amplitude:  3

Period:  π

Phase Shift:  0  ( 0  to the right)

Vertical Shift:  0

x                       f ( x )

0                        0

π ÷ 4                 3
