Explanation:

Compounds are those substances that are made up of elements that are combined in a fixed proportion or ratio. The individual property of element is lost once it forms a compound. The physical and chemical properties of both compound and an element is different.

Example of a compound is water and its elements are hydrogen and oxygen. Water is a colorless liquid that acts as a solvent and dissolves most of the solutes in it. While oxygen and hydrogen occurs as gases in their elemental state.

Answer:

Compound: It is pure substance.Compounds are formed by two or more atoms of same of different element  and elements are combined in fixed proportions or ratio.

Explanation:

Compound: It is pure substance.Compounds are formed by two or more atoms of same of different element  and elements are combined in fixed proportions or ratio.

The physical properties and chemical properties of compound are different from the physical properties and chemical properties of constituent elements of the compound.

For example

Water is a compound

It is consist of 2 atom of hydrogen and one atom of oxygen.

Hydrogen and oxygen are both gases in their  elementary form , but water is a colourless liquid and act as a  solvent. Most of the solutes dissolve in it.

Which statement about DNA replication is true?
Talja [164]

Answer:

D. Prokaryotes only have one origin of replication to initiate replication.

Explanation:

The DNA of prokaryotes is smaller than that of eukaryotes. So, prokaryotes have only one origin of replication. Origin of replication is the region of DNA where the process of DNA replication starts. The helicases recognize and bind to the origin of replication to start the melting of DNA double helix for replication.

DNA replication starts at the single origin of replication and stops at termination in prokaryotes.
