The total area of this polygon would be 14 yards squared.

The two lower rectangles both have an area of 3 yards squared. (Total of 6 yards squared)

The top rectangle has as area of 8 yards squared.

When you add these together you have a total of 14 yards squared.

Hope this helps and have a nice day! :)

Separate the shape into 3 rectangles, then multiply the two edges to find the area:

1 X 5 = 5 yards
1 X 5 = 5 yards
4 X 2 = 8 yards

So the total area = 18 yards^2

For each function, do the following: a) state the name of the function, b) identify the independent and dependent variable, c) i
Makovka662 [10]
<h2>Hello!</h2>

The answers are:

a) The name of the function is f.

b) Independent variable : t , dependent variable : y/f(t)

c) The rule that assings exactly one output to the very input is called "function".

d) f(-5)=-3t^{2}-2t=-3*(-5)^{2}-2*(-5)=-75+10=-65

<h2>Why?</h2>

Usually, the name of a function f(x) is what is out of the parentheses, so the name of the function is "f".

The independent variable of a function is the variable we assign the different values, so, for this case, the independent variable is "t"

The dependent variable is the function itselft, it's also called "y", it's called "dependent" variable because its values will always depends of the "independent variable"

Function is the rule that states that there is exactly one output (range value) to the very input (domain value).  A function only exists when there is exactly one output value (range) for each input (domain), if there is more than one output for each input, the function does not exist.

Evaluating a function consists of assign values to the independent variable, so:

f(-5)=-3t^{2}-2t=-3*(-5)^{2}-2*(-5)=-75+10=-65

Have a nice day!

Consider triangle abc what is the value of y in the triangle
Yakvenalex [24]

Answer:

y = 50

Step-by-step explanation:

All triangle angles add up to 180 degrees.

To set this equation up, you need to add everything given in the triangle and set it equal to 180:

y + y + 80 = 180

<em><u>Add like terms:</u></em>

2y + 80 = 180

<u><em>Subtract 80 from both sides:</em></u>

2y + 80 = 180

     - 80   - 80

___________

2y = 100

<u><em>Divide both sides by 2:</em></u>

y = 50

<u><em>If you're unsure, you can plug in the 50 for y:</em></u>

y + y + 80 = 180

50 + 50 + 80 = 180

100 + 80 = 180

180 = 180
