3^x-3^(x-2)=A*3^x <br><br> solve for A
ale4655 [162]

Answer:

a=\frac{8}{9}

Step-by-step explanation:

3^x-3x^{x-2} =a3^x

Divide both sides by 3^x:

3^{x-x}-3^{x-x-2}=a

Simplify:

3^0-3^{-2}=a\\a=1-\frac{1}{9} \\a=\frac{8}{9}

Solve the following simultaneous equations.<br> 5x – 3y = 6<br> 3x + 4y= 21
ehidna [41]

Answer:

y  = 3, x = 3

Step-by-step explanation:

5x – 3y = 6

5x = 6 + 3y

x = (6 + 3y)/5

3x + 4y= 21

3x = 21 - 4y

x = (21-4y)/3

Using simultaneous equations:

(21-4y)/3 = (6 + 3y)/5

--> 105-20y = 18 + 9y

29y = 87

  • y = 3

  • x = (6 + 3(3))/5 = 3

In the figure above, PQRS is a circle. If PQT and SRT<br>are straight lines, find the value of x.
Elena L [17]

Given:

PQRS is a circle, PQT and SRT  are straight lines.

To find:

The value of x.

Solution:

Since PQRS is a circle, PQT and SRT  are straight lines, therefore, PQRS isa cyclic quadrilateral.

We know that, sum of opposite angles of a cyclic quadrilateral is 180 degrees.

m\angle SPQ+m\angle QRS=180^\circ

81^\circ+m\angle QRS=180^\circ

m\angle QRS=180^\circ-81^\circ

m\angle QRS=99^\circ

Now, SRT  is a straight line.

m\angle QRT+m\angle QRS=180^\circ             (Linear pair)

m\angle QRT+99^\circ=180^\circ

m\angle QRT=180^\circ-99^\circ

m\angle QRT=81^\circ               ...(i)

According to the Exterior angle theorem, in a triangle the measure of an exterior angle is equal the sum of the opposite interior angles.

Using exterior angle theorem in triangle QRT, we get

m\angle PQR=m\angle QRT+m\angle QTR

x=81^\circ+22^\circ

x=103^\circ

Therefore, the value of x is 103 degrees.

The amount of profit, p, you earn by selling knives,k, can be determined by:p=200k-500. A) determine the constraints on profit a
Marizza181 [45]
The only restraints on profit result from the restriction on the domain which in turn place a restriction on profit.

0≤k. Knives sold cannot be negative.

So the range of profit or p is:

p=[-500, +oo)

Profit increases as the number of knives sold increases.  $200 more profit is gained by each sale of a knife.

4000=200k-500

4500=200k

k=22.5

Since k is for knives sold, it must be an integer value, so a $4000 profit is not possible.  At 22, p=3900 and at 23, p=4100
