Answer:

Women worked in factories, auxiliary services, drivers, and nurses.

Explanation:

Factories needed help producing machines such as ships and planes during the war, and since only women were left for the most part, they took over. By auxiliary services I am referring to anything dealing with safety such as evacuation officers. And finally drivers, they were the typical drivers you see today such as train and bus conductors. Finally, they also served as nurses to be able to support the troops out there fighting in the war.

Why did the united states assert itself as a world power
Kazeer [188]
Because the US had a great geographical location which shileded them from immediate contact with any military force. This was one thing, another thing was that they were lending money to the different European nations which they had to return after some time. All of this enabled the US to catapult itself and become a world power.

What was the opinion of most Americans as the Civil War started
Leni [432]

Answer:

The answer is that they thought that it would be a short yet glourious victory.

Explanation:

The emotions among the people when the Civil War started was mixed. People were overwhlemed with the amount of killing, yet didn't want to stop it until they got their way. The Battle of Antietam is the deadliest one day battle in US history. So you can imagine how much that shook up the people back at home. Photography was also very new and for the first time their were pictures available of the battlefield. It was traumatizing, yes, but the main mind set during the Civil War was to kill as many people who didn't approve with you as you could to protect your lifestyle. (Sorry it's so long :P hope you understand now)
