A virus is something that is airborne or transmitted kind of like an STD. See the virus inside the body is not necessarily something that will kill you but it still hurts stuff in the body. Blood cells are affected by the virus because it can injure the cell same with say the heart.
Virusis are in computers and you get them by watching inapropriat stuff but if you talking about the virus in biology they are not considered alive because they are single celled corganism with out any functioning organes
