In the battle of Saratoga of 1777, Americans needed aid and asked to form an alliance with France. But the French king was uncertain if they would win. Britain wanted to capture the Hudson river to cut off American communications. They me with Indian natives and fought the American army. Americans captured most of the British army and claimed a victory. It caused many more victories and convinced France to ally with the Americans.
