A lot of people lost their faith during this time. If it would never have happened then the church might have even more power in Europe today.
Some revolutions may have never happened. People used to believe in divine right which was that the king or queen had the right to govern their citizens how they saw fit because that right was given to them by god. When people started to move away from religious ideas, new governments began to form.
