There are a total of 35 in the two clubs and 10 not in either. That makes 45 students, however there are only 32 in the class which means 45-32 = 13 students in BOTH clubs. So if we want to find how many are in only one club we can say 32 = 13 + 10 + x

x = 9 students in only one club

AABC is similar to AAXY by a ratio of 4:3. If BC = 24, what is the length of XY?
Alenkasestr [34]

Answer:

OXY=18

Step-by-step explanation:

The ratio of AABC to AAXY is 4:3 so the lengths will be in that ratio too. The ratio of BC:XY is 4:3. BC is 24 so 24:XY is 4:3. You need to divide 24 by 6 to get 4 so multiply 3 by 6 to get the answer 18.

Divide.
slavikrds [6]

Answer:

(24y^3x-20y^5x^2)/(-3y^5x^2)

= y^3x(24-20y^2x))/(-3y^5x^2)

=(24-20y^2x)/(-3y^2x)

=(24/(-3y^2x))-((20y^2x)/(-3y^2x))

=(-8/y^2x)-(-20/3)

=-8/y^2x + 20/3

Suzanne is making a circular table out of a square piece of wood. The radius of the circle that she is cutting is 3 feet. How
Viefleur [7K]

Answer:

The waste Suzanne is going to have is around 7.726.

8 if looking for nearest square foot.

Step-by-step explanation:

Area for a square - x*x (length times length)

Area for a circle - r^2*pi

Find the area of the circle first, which plug in r as 3.

3^2*pi

9pi

≈28.27433

Notice for a circle inside a square,  the length of the square is the diameter of the circle.

By knowing 2r=diameter, we know the length of the square is 6

substitute x as 6.

6*6=36

Find the waste= Area of square - Area of circle

36-28.27433

≈7.726

The image I attached should give you a clue on how the problem is being done and help you to understand what the 3 feet means.
