A way of teaching still used today

Answer:

Explanation:

I don't think teaching has changed all that much in 2000 years to be truthful. Jesus is said to have been a master teacher. He used very few methods: parables, learned references, complete and utter faith in the rightness of the Father. He was successful.

Socrates used questions. His students were never let off the hook. If they faltered in even the smallest detail, he pursued them with a tenacity that forced them to defend themselves. He lived more than 2000 years ago. He was successful -- so much so that Athens feared his influence.

Modern teachers carefully follow a line of thought from Grade 1 to Grade 12. Their objective is vastly different perhaps than the other two. They are interested in preparing students for what they will face when they leave the protection of the school system. You may not agree, but I think they are successful.

What do these examples have in common?

In my opinion the very vast majority of teachers have two qualities in common: they care about the people they teach; they care about the subject matter they are teaching or the skills or the training or whatever you want to call it. Most feel strongly about what they are doing.

Few teachers will ever make the Frobes Billionaire's List if any at all. But they are content with enough.

Explain one way the image above reflects changes in workplaces in the period 1750-1900
slega [8]

Answer:

I might be wrong but diversity and safety are two things i can think of. If what we're seeing is a fire exit then it displays the safety issues found in early workplaces. and there is also a lack of diversity between the workers on the stairs.

Why were 19 young women executed in 1692 in Salem Massachusetts?
aleksley [76]
They were accused of witchcraft. Many people back in those days feared it. However, anyone could accuse someone of witchcraft in those days without evidence. Some were accused because others had a grudge against them. Some people thought that because some of the women were convulsing or acting out of the ordinary that they must have been involved in witchcraft. Punishment was carried out to discourage others from getting involved in the wicked religion so to speak.

What is the difference between the Anglo Colonists, like William B. Travis and the Tejanos?
stiv31 [10]

Answer:

The Anglo colonists, as the name implies, were people from the United States who were mostly of British descent. They can be divided in two groups: those who came from the neighboring Louisiana, and expanded the slave plantations in Eastern Texas, and those who came from Appalachia, and founded small farms in Central Texas.

The Tejanos were the original colonists of Spanish descent, who came from other parts of Mexico. They spoke Spanish, were catholic, and had ties to Latin America. However, they were also part of the independece movement in Texas, but many of them opposed the annexation of the state to the United States (this was supported en masse by the Anglos for obvious reasons).
