Before budget change :

Maintenance = 1 - 1/3 - 1/3 - 1/4 = 1/12

After budget change :

Maintenance = 1 - 1/3 - 1/8 - 1/4 = 7/24

Difference in budget for maintenance = 7/24 - 1/12 = 5/12

Answer:

\frac{5}{24}

Step-by-step explanation:

Previous year table .

Food - \frac{1}{3}

Housing - \frac{1}{3}

Medical Care - \frac{1}{4}

So, total =\frac{1}{3}+\frac{1}{3}+\frac{1}{4}= \frac{11}{12}

Since we are given that  the remaining portion of the budget will be for maintenance expenses.

So, maintenance expenses = 1-\frac{11}{12}=\frac{1}{12

Present year table

Food -\frac{1}{3}

Housing -\frac{1}{8}

Medical Care - \frac{1}{4}

So, total =\frac{1}{3}+\frac{1}{8}+\frac{1}{4}=\frac{17}{24}

Since we are given that  the remaining portion of the budget will be for maintenance expenses.1-\frac{17}{24}=\frac{7}{24}

The difference between the fraction of the budget for maintenance this year and last year = 7/24 - 1/12 = 5/24

Hence the difference between the fraction of the budget for maintenance this year and last year is 5/24

Mr. Parker wants to rent a cargo van for a day. It will cost the daily fee of $50.00 plus $0.35 per mile driven.
Fittoniya [83]

Answer:

50d * 0.35m

Step-by-step explanation:

so I don't normally do it like this it would normally be 50 * 0.35x.  but the days also had a fee unless she doesn't have it for 2 days and only has it one but d is the days she has it and m is the miles driven the * is times

you would have to find out the days she has it unless you don't have that is would be the answer above (if I am wrong I'm sorry)

PHYTHAGOREAN THEOREM PLEASE HELP
eimsori [14]
X is approximately 62.23 units

Separate the square into two right triangles. Since all 4 sides of the square are congruent (equal to each other), they are all 44 units long. The Pythagorean Theorem is a^2 + b^2 = c^2, where a and b are sides of the triangle and c is the hypotenuse (longest side of the right triangle, in this case would be x).

44^2 + 44^2 = c^2
1936 + 1936 = c^2
3872 = c^2
Take the square root of both sides.
c is about 62.23
c = x, so x is around 62.23 units long

Hope this helps

In Jerome's physics class, he had to solve the equation 40 = 12mv2 for m. Each step of his work is shown below.
Aleksandr-060686 [28]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

I think you mean 1/2 for 12. I will assume so

40 = (1/2) m v^2                Multiply both sides by 2

40*2 = (1/2)*2  *m * v^2    Combine the 2s cancel.

80 =  m * v^2                    Divide by v^2

80/v^2 = m * v^2/v^2       Cancel

80/v^2 = m

Since I don't have the drop down menus, you'll have do the matching.

For number 8 how do you factor the common factor out of the expression
kari74 [83]
You do the same as with number you take out the largest allowed amount. For example for 8 you could take out x^2 and y^2 along with the normal factors, So once you factor everything out you would be left with 27x^2y^2(y^3-3x)

Can someone help me how do you eliminate “x”
Contact [7]

Answer:

Multiply the bottom one by -4

Step-by-step explanation:

to cancel in a system of equations, there must be a negative and a positive of both variables. - times - equals +, so multiply -x by -4 to get 4x, thus cancelling -4x with 4x.
