If I like it: Yes, I like this poem. It seems/feels so intimate, yet somehow I feel connected to the character.
What emotions are there:I believe the emotions a reader would feel would be sorrow, pity, despair, grief, and helplessness because he/she has no power to help the abused.
What I would add to make it better: I probably wouldn't, perhaps start posting it publicly to sites like 'Wattpad', to get a wider perspective from public comments.
The correct answer is identifying your audience.
The first thing you need to think about when starting your writing is your audience - the people you are writing for and want to read your work. Based on your audience, you will know whether you need to be more or less formal, you will decide on your language and choice of words, your tone, topic, etc.
Answer: At first kazu enjoyed spending his gold, but he soon grew bored and wished to be a prince.
I think the answer is 'audience'. That is who you would consider when beginning to discuss/write about any topic.
