In 1820 120 thousand Native Americans lived east of the Mississippi River, by 1844 fewer than 30 thousand were left there.

As the US pushed the boundaries of its territory East and West the Native Americans suffered. President Andrew Jackson passed the Removal Act on the Congress in 1830, the bill forced Native Americans to leave the US and settle in “Indian Territory” west of the Mississippi River. Americans needed more land for white settlement, army and militia patrols supervised the tribes.

The Cherokee tribes did not agree with the bill and challenged it, thousands of federal soldiers entered the territory and forced them to relocate. It was on this moment that the “Trail of Tears” happened, Cherokees were forced to march a thousand miles into Indian Territory and about 4 thousand of them died. The Indians were not provided with adequate supplies and many died due to disease and starvation. Some estimate that close to 100 thousand Native Americans lost their lives and their homelands in the series of forced migrations that lasted through the 1840s.

2) Choose the TWO items that reflect characteristics of the parliamentary system of government.
Gnom [1K]

Answer:

Explanation:

Defining characteristics of the parliamentary system are the supremacy of the legislative branch within the three functions of government—executive, legislative, and judicial—and blurring or merging of the executive and legislative functions. The legislative function is conducted through a unicameral (one-chamber) or bicameral (two-chamber) parliament composed of members accountable to the people they represent. A prime minister and the ministers of several executive departments of the government primarily carry out the executive function.

The political party or coalition of parties that make up a majority of the parliament’s membership select the prime minister and department ministers. The prime minister usually is the leader of the majority party, if there is one, or the leader of one of the parties in the ruling coalition. Some ceremonial executive duties are carried out by a symbolic head of state — a hereditary king or queen in a democratic constitutional monarchy, such as Great Britain, Japan, Norway, or Spain, or an elected president or chancellor in a democratic constitutional republic such as Germany, Italy, or Latvia. The judicial function typically is independent of the legislative and executive components of the system.

Before schools were commonly used and accepted as educational institutions if you wanted to learn a trade, you would need to find a master and to ask him to be his apprentice. If the master accepted you, then he would transmit his knowledge and technique to you. Thus the right answer is He is an apprentice training to learn a trade.

A good example is shown in the picture because you can see the master an the apprentice, but you can also find this situation in some movies, when a young guy moves in with a blacksmith and learns from him before becoming a master himself.
