<span>Step 1: find the radius
The radius is half of the diameter. So the radius is 8 because the diameter is 16.

Step 2: square the radius.
8^2 = 64

Step 3: plug into formula
pi * radius squared * height
3.14 * (64) * (1.8) = 361.728 m^3
The volume of the pool is 361. 728 meters cubed.

Step 4: Divide volume by the amount pumped out per hour
volume / amount pumped out = amount of hours
361.728/16 = 22.608 hours.

So your answer is approximately 23 hours.</span><span> </span>

D = diameter = 8
r = radius = d/2 = 8/2 = 4
h = height = 1.5

V = volume of cylinder pool
V = pi*r^2*h
V = 3.14*4^2*1.5
V = 75.36

"Water is pumped out at a rate of 12 m^3 per hour", so this means
1 hr ---> 12*1 = 12 m^3 of water is pumped out
2 hr ---> 12*2 = 24 m^3 of water is pumped out
3 hr ---> 12*3 = 36 m^3 of water is pumped out
... and so on...
x hr ---> 12*x of water is pumped out

We want to pump out 75.36 cubic meters of water. So set 12x equal to 75.36 and solve for x

12x = 75.36
12x/12 = 75.36/12
x = 6.28

It will take a little over 6 hours to drain the pool

note1: 6.28 hrs = 6 hrs, 16 minutes, 48 seconds

note2: The value 6.28 is approximate because the approximation pi = 3.14 was used

The right answer is Option D.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let,

Kyle's money = x

Hayden's money = y

Jeremy's money = z

According to statements;

Kyle has three times as much money in his savings account as  Hayden.

x = 3y   Eqn 1

Hayden has twice as much money in his savings account  as Jeremy.

z = 2y   Eqn 2

Combined Kyle, Hayden, and Jeremy have a total of  $612.

x+y+z=612   Eqn 3

Putting value of x and z from Eqn 1 and 2 in Eqn 3

3y+y+2y=612\\6y=612

Dividing both sides by 6

\frac{6y}{6}=\frac{612}{6}\\y=102

Putting in Eqn 1;

x=3(102)\\x=306

Kyle has $306 in his account.

The right answer is Option D.

Sophia is saving money for a new bicycle. The bicycle will cost at least $623. Sophia makes $8.22 per hour. Which inequality cou
tankabanditka [31]
<span>$8.22h ≥ $623 Let's look at the options and see what works and what doesn't. $8.22h > $623 * This inequality mostly works and it's true. But there may be a better choice later. So let's hold off on this one. $8.22h ≤ $623 * That less than or equal has issues. Let's buy the bike if I have less money than what's needed? Nope, not gonna work. Although that equal portion does have an element of truth to it. But this is a bad choice. $8.22h ≥ $623 * And this third option is better than the first. It simply says that you have to have enough or more money to buy the bike. The 1st equation basically said you have to have more money than the cost of the bike. So this is the correct choice. $8.22h < $623 * This is worse than the 2nd option. In a nutshell, is says buy the bike when you don't have enough money. So bad choice.</span>
