<h3>By around 1910 nationally, minimum wage laws protected women and children from exploitation, unsanitary workplace conditions, and provide health care. These reforms were enacted in 13 states and Washington, DC. As more and more women worked outside of their homes, women were becoming financially independent.</h3>
