In retaliation, South Carolina seceded, and used military action against them. He also made the federal reserve a thing I think.

If I had been able to vote, I would have only known about events that had taken place before the election, such as the fact that Jackson's character was questionable. He had owned, bought and sold slaves, and had been known to be unkind to them. He was also responsible for various massacres in Indian villages and for executing army deserters. These would all be reasons why I would not have voted for Andrew Jackson.
