The four Constitutional Amendments that were ratified were the 16th, 17th, 18th, and 19th Amendments to the Constitution of the United States.

Here is what each amendment accomplished and the date each was ratified.

On February 3, 1903, the 16th Amendment gave the federal government of the United States the faculty and power to collect money through the income tax.

On April 8, 1913, the 17th Amendment established that from that moment, citizens would be able to vote for Senators in the elections.

On January 16, 1919, the 18th Amendment established that alcohol was illegal in the United States, and the sale was prohibited.

On August 18, 1920, the 19th Amendment approved women's suffrage, which means that women finally had the right to vote in elections.

I think that USA has so many capital cities because when you remember about history you think to the Louisiana Purchase and also the Native Americans. The Americans fought for land and won so many of them that they started farming in these places and also had to name there state with a capita.
