Electrons are deflected by a magnetic field because...

Chemistry

they have a negligible mass and they also have a negative charge so they have an association with the magnetic field. Do you remember polar? So electrons are negative and they attract the nucleus which is overall postivie (since protons are positive) so they act as magnetic since they both have an attraction

Need chem help asap, thanks
eduard
Well, for the atoms, one mole of anything has Avagadros number of atoms. For grams, look at the periodic table and the atomic mass is the molar mass. For the gaseous liters (O2 ,H2,and the bottom one which is STP), any mole of a gas at STP has a volume of 22.4 liters. The top one with the capital M is molarity and the equation for molarity is M=moles of thing/volume in liters. So you have the molarity which is two and the number of moles which is one. solve dor volume. So there you go.

Calculate the freezing temperature of the following solution of 0.50 M glucose (a covalent compound). Assume that the molality o
kirza4 [7]

Answer:

-0.93 °C

Explanation:

Hello,

The freezing-point depression is given by:

T_f-T_f^*=-iK_{solvent}m_{solute}

Whereas T_f is the freezing temperature of the solution, T_f^* is the freezing temperature of the pure solvent (0 °C since it is water), i the Van't Hoff factor (1 since the solute is covalent), K_{f,solvent} the solvent's freezing point depression point constant (in this case 1.86 C\frac{kg}{mol}) and m_{solute} the molality of the glucose.

As long as the unknown is T_f, solving for it:

T_f=T_f^*-iK_fm\\T_f=0C-1*1.86C\frac{kg}{mol}*0.5\frac{mol}{kg}  \\T_f=-0.93C

Best regards.

How much volume (in cm3) is gained by a person who gains 12.3 lb of pure fat?
maks197457 [2]

Answer:

So we are given with the mass while we are asked for the amount of volume. So this means, we must need an information on the density. From literature, the density of human fat is 0.918 g/cm³. Convert grams to lb by the conversion that 1,000 g = 2.2 lbs.

Density = 0.918 g/cm³ * (2.2 lbs/1,000 g) = 0.0020196 lb/cm³

Volume = Mass/Density = 12.2 lb / 0.0020196 lb/cm³

Volume = 6,040.8 cm³
