\boxed{{\text{Chemical weathering of rocks}}} is a source of dissolved substances in the ocean.

Further Explanation:

More than 70 % of earth’s surface is occupied by water that is obtained from various seas and oceans. Water in the oceans not only contains pure water, but has several other substances present in it. These substances include different chemicals like sodium chloride, sulfates, potassium, calcium, and magnesium.

When evaporation of ocean water occurs, it removes water from it and salt is left behind so it results in an increase in the salinity of ocean water but cannot act as source of dissolved substances present in water of seas and oceans.Excretions of marine organisms result in secretion of nitrogenous substances and are efficient in water removal from the rectum. Melting of icebergs and sea ice has no effect on the sea level as they were already present inside it.

The process by which large and big rocks are broken down due to various chemical reactions of water and other substances in it is called chemical weathering of rocks. Five major types of chemical weathering include carbonation, oxidation, dehydration, hydration and hydrolysis. When rain pours down, it gets mixed with carbon dioxide of air and carbonic acid is produced, which then flows down and reacts with rocks. This leads to dissolution of some parts of rocks and hence chemical weathering of rocks acts as source of dissolved substances in water.

Hence option a is correct.

The best answer among the choices given is option A. Chemical weathering of rocks is a source of dissolved substances in the ocean. It is a process that involves the erosion of rocks due to chemical reactions by water and substances dissolved in the water. Therefore, it most likely the source of dissolved substances.

A 62.6-gram piece of heated limestone is placed into 75.0 grams of water at 23.1°C. The limestone and the water come to a final
VMariaS [17]
M₁ = mass of water = 75 g
T₁ = initial temperature of water = 23.1 °C
c₁ = specific heat of water = 4.186 J/g°C

m₂ = mass of limestone = 62.6 g
T₂ = initial temperature of limestone = ?
c₂ = specific heat of limestone = 0.921 J/g°C

T = equilibrium temperature = 51.9 °C
using conservation of heat
Heat lost by limestone = heat gained by water
m₂c₂(T₂ - T) = m₁c₁(T - T₁)
inserting the values
(62.6) (0.921) (T₂ - 51.9) = (75) (4.186) (51.9 - 23.1)
T₂ = 208.73 °C
in three significant figures
T₂ = 209 °C

You leave a piece of bread outside for a few days. It forms green and blue mold. It smells awful. A chemical change has occurred
Fed [463]

False. It is a physical change because the molecules of the bread didn't change only the form of the bread changed.

A company desires to produce nickel from refining nickel oxide and sulfide ores. the first step of the process will produce a ni
inn [45]
Answer is: increase the concentration of NiCO₄ and withdraw CO from the products as it is forming.

Balanced chemical reaction: NiCO₄(g) ⇄ Ni(s) + 4CO(g).
According to Le Chatelier's Principle the position of equilibrium moves to counteract the change:
1) the position of equilibrium will move to the right, so that the concentration of nickel carbonyl gas decreases again and produce more nickel.
2) the position of equilibrium will move to the right, if we decrease concentration of carbon monoxide, more nickel carbonyl gas will decompose and produce more nickel.
