Substance A is the best model for a solid because: Solids are a group of tightly compacted molecules that cannot move. They can be bonded to each other, but just cannot move. Diagram B would most likely be a liquid, since it’s molecules are close together, but move freely. Model C would be a gas, since gaseous substances have molecules that move freely and are not very connected.

. An open manometer is filled with mercury. The mercury level is 12mm higher on the side open to the atmosphere. What is the tot
Mariulka [41]

Answer:

102kPa

Explanation:

760mmHg = 101.325 kPa

12mmHg = x

Upon converting from mmHg to kPa we have;

x = ( 12 mm Hg x  101.325 kPa)  / 760mmHg

x = 1.599868421 kPa

Total pressure = 100.8 kPa + 1.599868421 kPa

Total pressure = 102kPa

What resources should the scientist use to research water pollution?
Alla [95]
A scientist needs to check several parameters before coming to a conclusion about the amount of water pollution. The scientists needs to check the amount of dissolved oxygen in the water, temperature of the water, the clarity of the water, the PH level of the water and also the amount of bacteria present in the water. There may be other criteria’s, but the mentioned ones are enough to gauge the amount of pollution in the water. Scientists often takes fish and aquatic plants from the water to be tested to check the amount of pollution indirectly affecting these species.

A chemical reaction with an initial quantity of 1.35 moles of gas is performed in a 4.50-L flask at 24.7°C and under 1.07 atm of
nexus9112 [7]

Answer:

0.488 mol

Explanation:

By the ideal gas law:

PV = nRT

Where P is the pressure, V is the volume, n is the number of moles, R is the gas constant (0.082 atm.L/mol.K), and T is the temperature in K. Thus, after the reaction:

P = 2.92 atm

V = 4.50 L

T = 55.2°C + 273 = 328.2 K

PV = nRT

n = PV/RT

n = (2.92*4.50)/(0.082*328.2)

n = 0.488 mol
