Answer:

DNA helical is the double strand of the DNA wraped around each other

Explanation:

DNA helical is composed of the two strand of the DNA wraped around each other just like a helical

DNA helical or double strand is mad up of two strands bind with each other via nitrogenous bases( adenine ,thymine ,guanine)

firstly this structure was described by the Watson Crick model of the DNA

Answer:

DNA is a double-stranded right-handed helix; the two strands are complementary because of complementary base pairing, and antiparallel because the two strands have opposite 5′−3′ orientation (Figure 1.1A). The diameter of the helical DNA molecule is 20 Å (=2 nm). ... The major grooves in DNA can bind proteins.

Explanation:

smaller version

Many people perceive the double helical structure of DNA (left) to be an extremely elegant, and in some ways miraculous structure. Clearly, the presence of two complementary strands is an efficient solution to the problem of the replication of DNA - how to make two exact copies from one original - but why is DNA helical?

In fact, as this short tutorial aims to show you, the helix is a general response to the stacking up of single monomer units into a polymer - DNA can’t help being a helix.

This tutorial uses a utility called Jmol , which allows us to manipulate 3-D structures. If you click and drag on the DNA structure, you can rotate it around at will. Try it!

Helices are actually extremely common in macromolecules - the obvious example is the α-helix in proteins, but there are many others.

dlinn [17]

Answer:

Explanation:

When a substance has the  capacity to disrupts the genetic compositions (DNA) of the  organisms, to the extent that it makes the  particular organism genetic materials prone to genetic mutation,( random changes in the genetic composition) such group of substances are called Mutagens.

ionizing radiation, radioactive decay are  some examples of  of physical mutagens, while biological mutagens examples include viruses and bacterial. Chemical mutagens are Benzene compounds, bromine, aromatic amines, sodium Azide.

They exerts their negative effects

by disrupting gene expression sequence of transcription, translation, or changed the nucleotides  sequence of the DNA leading to  deletion, addition, subtraction of genetic bases. Some may make chromosomes to be unstable, disrupting the structure

Although some mutagens can cause cancer, that is they are mutagens. not all mutagens  carcinogenic. This is because the Mutagenic effects depends on the metabolites present in the cells of the organisms.

two parents with normal phenotypes have a daughter who genetically inherited a disorder. Explain how this is possible.
sukhopar [10]

Answer:

Phenotype is physical appearance of the individual while genotype is the genetic makeup of the individual.

Explanation:

Two parents having normal phenotype but effected individual is due to the parents may be Carrier for the particular deseis and the gene responsible for the desies may be in recessive form and the parents are not effected.  The gene is not present in dominant form and can not show its effect but the parents are not effected and the daughter may be affected by certain desiese.
