Answer:

A major gas leak occurred in a pesticide factory.

Explanation:

The city of Bhopal is located in central India, it was the scene of one of the greatest tragedies in history. It all began on December 3, 1984, in an insecticide factory that used the following reaction to obtain its final product: methyl isocyanate.

This raw material is a highly toxic gaseous substance. The factory used a large amount of gas and therefore kept the stock in the tanks. It happened that at dawn on the 3rd, due to numerous failures, the gas trapped in the tanks leaked completely. At the same time, thousands of people took to the streets feeling the following symptoms: difficulty breathing, burning eyes, dizziness, among others. The loss of vision was one of the consequences of the injured, and the worst, several people (including children) died the same day and the following days.

Many pregnant women living in the city of Bhopal suffered instant miscarriages and most of the babies born in those days were killed. It was a real catastrophe. It is estimated that in the early hours the accident caused about 8000 fatalities. And in the years that followed, the death toll reached 22,000.

How does the physical geography of South Asia impact human cultures? Write 1 paragraph (5-8 sentences).
Oksi-84 [34.3K]

The geographic term “Asia” was originally used by ancient Greeks to describe the civilizations east of their empire. Ancient Asian peoples, however, saw themselves as a varied and diverse mix of cultures—not a collective group. Today, the term “Asia” is used as a cultural concept, while subregion classifications describe the distinct geopolitical identities of the continent. These classifications are Western Asia, Central Asia, Southern Asia, Eastern Asia, Southeastern Asia, and Northern Asia.

6. Cultural convergence occurs more rapidly with
arsen [322]

Cultural convergence occurs more rapidly with improved transportation.

What is cultural convergence?

Cultural convergence is the phrase used to describe how civilizations tend to alter and adapt when they are frequently exposed to different cultures. Cultures will become more similar the more they interact with one another. Time and points of interaction are two major aspects that affect cultural convergence. Greater commonalities between cultures emerge from longer exposure times, of course. Increased contact rates, accessibility to communication and transportation, and membership in the same groups all speed up the rate of convergence. It will take longer for a civilization to absorb the traditions of another culture if they are just sometimes exposed to it through pop culture media than if they are exposed to their food, language, art, etc.
