The Peloponnesian War reshaped the Greek world, in a sense. On an international note, Athens, which was thought to be the strongest city-state in Greece before the war began, was reduced to a state of near-complete subjection, and Sparta was established as the leading power of Greece. These events came to play a big role in how history works out, and changed the course of wars and power.

Write a journal entry as if you are a cowboy taking cattle to market. Include why you do this, what kinds of challenges you face
Fittoniya [83]

Answer:

I am so upset at myself. I don’t know where my head was. Finally, here I was, with $80 to my name (which is meager compensation for a two-month cattle drive), and then I lose it all gambling. Just one night, and now I am bankrupt all over again. Yesterday was my 22nd birthday, as well as my payday, so I allowed myself a little gambling in Abilene, Kansas, a cow town. But I got so caught up in the action that I couldn’t stop, and pretty soon, I was broke.

I had been hoping to save enough money to start my own business, Bronco Jones and Company, but I suppose that will just have to wait for the next cattle drive. Hopefully, by then I will have better sense.

But enough talk about that. I shall write about the cattle drive, in case I ever look back in this journal 20 years from now and wonder what it was like. Cowhands have very tough jobs, not to mention boring at times. I am a swing rider, and I help keep the cattle from straying. There are several other cowhands and, of course, a point rider and a cook. Lucky for us, we now have a talented cook who can turn anything into a delicious meal. We've had much worse cooks in the past.

One little piece of excitement that sticks out in my mind is the day a single gunshot started a cattle stampede. I didn’t even have time to wonder where it came from, for in a split second, the longhorns had already taken off at an alarming run. It was all chaos for some time. Finally we managed to slow down the stampeding herd by turning them in a wide circle. That memory shall certainly amuse me for some years to come, and I do need some fun, for tomorrow I am returning to Texas for yet another cattle drive. I hope it's my last.

hope this helps

What does the term manifest destiny imply?
insens350 [35]
Manifest Destiny was the idea that the people of America had a mission from God to conquer the continent form East to West. In all reality, it was a word used to rationalize the American peoples hunger for land and the westward expansion. They also used this term to rationalize the 'westernization' of the indigenous Indians they discovered as they traveled.

In what ways do the colonists deserve better treatment?
nikdorinn [45]

Answer:

Fair taxes

Local self-rule

Representation in the British parliament

Explanation:

American colonists deserve better treatment in many ways. Some of which includes:

1. Fair taxes: American colonists deserve to have a fair tax system. Towards the beginning of the American Revolutionary War, the British government levied so many taxes on the colonists which were considered unreasonable and exorbitant to pay.

2. Local self-rule: American colonists deserve local self-rule. All the governors in the thirteen colonies were appointed by the British Crown and they all came from Great Britain.

3.Representation in the British parliament: The American colonists deserve representation in the British parliament. This is based on the fact that they need to have people to represent them in conveying what they want and need in the colonies.

Why were buddhist ideas appealing to people after the fall of the Han dynasty?
gladu [14]

Explanation:

Buddhist teachings were translated into Chinese. Then, with the breakdown of the Han dynasty, conversions to Buddhism spread among China's masses. They learned respect for India and they felt compelled to re-examine the theory that the Chinese emperor was the Son of Heaven and enthroned at the center of the world. I hope this helps.
