After the end of WWII in 1945, the United States and the Soviet Union emerged as the two main nations that saved Europe from Nazism. The problem was that at the same time the Soviet Union wanted to spread its own political and economic ideologies which were Communism. Communism clashed directly with what the US always defended and believed in: liberalism, the right to own property and political freedom to the people to make their own choices.

With that said, the US and the Soviet Union started the Cold War, which was a war on political power and development to see which political and economical ideology “was better”. In the end, Communism failed for several reasons.
