How do both cartoons indicate the artists’ concern for workers?

History

Each cartoon demonstrates the power of the Titans during the Gilded Age. In the first they are riding on the backs of the poor immigrants looking disheveled and weak and in the second the octopus is strangling the worker. Both present a view that the worker is being exploited or destroyed by the greed of the Titans.
The octopus is appropriate imagery as it shows the varied reach of companies like Standard Oil. They were in control of the government, banks, workers, etc. The octopus is ominous and comes out of nowhere but is ultimately dangerous in how they can extend in many directions and can hold on tight making all in the grasp helpless.

The French goal to weaken the power of religion over government was inspired by which enlightenment idea
FromTheMoon [43]
They got the idea from Swiss philosopher Jean-Jacques Rousseau, who believed that mankind, being good by its very nature, would exist in a state of complete social harmony were it not for the corrupting influences of civilization. The people, in this pure state of nature, were absolutely and completely sovereign. They could do no wrong. That’s why you cannot stand against them. To do so would be to stand against goodness itself. ” <span />

What will be the consequences of Jackson’s “getting his way” in politics for the nation and the role of future presidents?
Evgesh-ka [11]

At that time, the most controversial decision made by Andrew Jackson would most likely be his efforts to move the Native Americans from their land.

He was a prominent supporter of making legislation that enable American military to take the native american land by force.

If, other representatives at that time let Jackson getting his way in politics, Future presidents would most likely had to deal with the after effects of ethnic cleansing initiated by Jackson, and the racial tension in united states might be even worse that it is today.
