Brigham Young was the one who led the mormons to present day Utah when searching for religious freedom.

Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of latter day Saints had been persecuted for their beliefs since the founding of their church so, on February 10, 1846 Young began leading 1,600 mormons West to escape the persecution.

When they were led to Utah, Young became known as “Mormon Moses”
