Studying the expression of a transcription regulatory protein in two cell types, you have performed experiments showing that the

mRNA encoding the protein is present at comparable levels in the cytosol of both cell types. However, based on the expression of its target genes, you suspect that the protein activity might be significantly different in the two cell types. Which of the following steps in expression of the gene encoding this protein is more likely to be differentially controlled in these cell types?
a.Translation
b.mRNA transport
c.mRNA degradation
d.Transcription

a) option is correct

Explanation:

Since the mRNA levels are similar in both cell types, difference in protein activity can be attributed to differences in translation or in post-translational control

Translation is completed in four sequential steps: activation of amino acids (tRNA charging), initiation, elongation and termination

Eukaryotic translation is similar as prokaryotic translation but more complex due to: mRNA require preparation before translation, requirement of preparation of ribosomal small subunit require large number of initiation factors and require scanning of initiation codon

Would an Egyptian pyramid that is 4500 years old be considered a fossil?
lara [203]

An Egyptian pyramid that is 4500 years old will be considered as a fossil in this scenario.

What is a Fossil?

This is defined as trace of an animal or plant of a past geologic age that has been preserved in Earth's crust.

Since it has been discovered that the egyptian pyramid contains thousands of marine fossils then it can be generally referred to as a fossil.

Australia has invested in capital goods, so their standard of living and GDP increasing true or false
Ronch [10]

Answer:

Australia has invested in capital goods, so their standard of living and GDP increasing is true.

Explanation:

 • Capital goods are goods or objects that is used to produce other good or objects. Examples are buildings, furniture etc.,
 • GDP measures the economic activity of the country.
 • Investing in these goods has led to the "average household net-adjusted disposable income per capita as USD 32,759 a year", this increased the standard of living and resulted Australia as 'one of the highest' in the world.

Using your knowledge of Punnett squares and hybridization, what is the probability that a purebred monohybrid, dihybrid, three-f
Nimfa-mama [501]

Answer:

100%

Explanation:

No matter how many factors are in the cross, if an 2 purebred (homozygous individuals) are crossed, (one dominant, one recessive) the dominant phenotype will always be displayed.

Imagine a cross with between two individuals true breeding for 6 traits. One shows all dominant genotypes, one shows all recessive genotypes. The only gametes those individuals can pass on will always produce heterozygotes.

AABBCCDDEEFFGG x aabbccddeeffgg

The first individual can only give ABCDEFG alleles. The second individual can only give abcdefg alleles. Therefore, all offspring will be AaBbCcDdEeFfGg, and will therefore express the dominant trait.

Please help me i don’t understand
Eddi Din [679]
1. Biogeography, the study of the geographic distribution of plants, animals, and other forms of life. It is concerned not only with habitation patterns but also with the factors responsible for variations in distribution.

2. weathering and other natural forces break down the substrate, rock, enough for the establishment of certain hearty plants and lichens with few soil requirements, known as pioneer species. These species help to further break down the mineral-rich lava into soil where other, less hardy species can grow and eventually replace the pioneer species. In addition, as these early species grow and die, they add to an ever-growing layer of decomposing organic material and contribute to soil formation. This process repeats multiple times during succession. At each stage, new species move into an area, often due to changes to the environment made by the preceding species, and may replace their predecessors. At some point, the community may reach a relatively stable state and stop changing in composition. However, it's unclear if there is always—or even usually—a stable endpoint to succession.

3. I don’t have the video so I’m going to take. Wild guess. Just look up types of finches

4. Broadly speaking, different species are unable to interbreed and produce healthy, fertile offspring due to barriers called mechanisms of reproductive isolation.
These barriers can be split into two categories based on when they act: prezygotic and postzygotic.

I tried my best hope this helps :)

How did humanity start?

Human evolution

Human evolution is the lengthy process of change by which people originated from apelike ancestors. Scientific evidence shows that the physical and behavioral traits shared by all people originated from apelike ancestors and evolved over a period of approximately six million years.
One of the earliest defining human traits, bipedalism -- the ability to walk on two legs -- evolved over 4 million years ago. Other important human characteristics -- such as a large and complex brain, the ability to make and use tools, and the capacity for language -- developed more recently. Many advanced traits -- including complex symbolic expression, art, and elaborate cultural diversity -- emerged mainly during the past 100,000 years.
Humans are primates. Physical and genetic similarities show that the modern human species, Homo sapiens, has a very close relationship to another group of primate species, the apes. Humans and the great apes (large apes) of Africa -- chimpanzees (including bonobos, or so-called “pygmy chimpanzees”) and gorillas -- share a common ancestor that lived between 8 and 6 million years ago. Humans first evolved in Africa, and much of human evolution occurred on that continent. The fossils of early humans who lived between 6 and 2 million years ago come entirely from Africa.
Most scientists currently recognize some 15 to 20 different species of early humans. Scientists do not all agree, however, about how these species are related or which ones simply died out. Many early human species -- certainly the majority of them – left no living descendants. Scientists also debate over how to identify and classify particular species of early humans, and about what factors influenced the evolution and extinction of each species.
Early humans first migrated out of Africa into Asia probably between 2 million and 1.8 million years ago. They entered Europe somewhat later, between 1.5 million and 1 million years. Species of modern humans populated many parts of the world much later. For instance, people first came to Australia probably within the past 60,000 years and to the Americas within the past 30,000 years or so. The beginnings of agriculture and the rise of the first civilizations occurred within the past 12,000 years.
Hope this helps:)
