Defense mechanisms refers to psychological strategies that are unknowingly used to shield a man from nervousness emerging from inadmissible considerations or emotions. We utilize defense mechanisms to shield ourselves from sentiments of nervousness or blame, which emerge on the grounds that we feel undermined, or on the grounds that our id or superego turns out to be excessively requesting.
