To find the area of a rectangle the formula is length times width

rectangle A = l x w
= 24 x 20
= 480
480 is the area of rectangle A

rectangle B's width is 12 meters less than rectangle A
since the width of rectangle A is 20 you take 20 and subtract 12

20 - 12 = 8

the width of rectangle B is 8

now since the question said that rectangle A and B both have the same area you put 480 into the formula

and since we now have the width of rectangle B we can figure out the length

Area = l x w

480 = length x 8

480 divided by 8 is 60

60 is rectangle B's length

so the answer is b)

At the end of chapter 39, Tom writes a "nonnamous" letter to the Phelps family. His letter is full of slang and colloquialisms.
kap26 [50]

The above question wants to analyze your reading and writing ability, so you should write this letter and I'll show you how to do that.

First, you should read Tom's letter, understand the subjects he is addressing and the language he is using. You can use articles and summaries to aid this understanding.

After that, you should be able to write your essay as follows:

  • Introduction: Introduce who Tom is and the importance of his letter.

  • Body: Write down the subjects that Tom addresses in the letter and how this demonstrates his personality, characteristics, in addition to presenting the context in which he is inserted and how the Phelps family contributes and interferes in this context.

  • Conclusion: Show how this letter is important for the story and understanding the character.
